Almonte in Concert invites you to another season of five outstanding concerts in the intimate and acoustically superb setting of the Ron Caron Auditorium in Almonte Old Town Hall. Founded in 1980, this all-volunteer organization is run by a dedicated board of directors who believe in making chamber music locally available and accessible to everyone.
The season opens on October 17 with a performance by the esteemed 20-voice Elmer Iseler Singers. This professional ensemble last performed in Almonte in 2013, in fact opening Almonte in Concert’s 2013–14 season to a sold-out audience. Almonte is the first stop on the choir’s much-anticipated 2026 fall tour of Eastern Canada. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear them live in concert!
On December 5, the delightful soprano Mireille Asselin (Almonte’s very own!), the versatile pianist Caron Becke, and the engaging retired CBC broadcaster Laurence Wall join forces in a very special collaboration to mark the holiday season. Wall will be reading Frederick Forsyth’s classic Christmas ghost story The Shepherd, set to a musical soundscape provided by Asselin and Becke.
We welcome Ember Ensemble for our winter Sunday afternoon concert on January 24. This Montreal-based quartet, comprised of soprano Elizabeth Polese, violinist Katelyn Emery, French hornist Florence Rousseau and pianist Christopher Gaudreault, brings concert hall classics into intimate settings. The ensemble revisits beloved repertoire with its unique instrumentation, offering audiences a fresh and luminous perspective on cherished works.
On March 6, CC Duo (guitarists Adam Cicchillitti and Steve Cowan) promise us an evening of stellar music in a performance of their original arrangements of 19th– and 20th-century piano works from their fourth and latest album, Lyrique. They are reshaping the guitar duo landscape with their stunning virtuosity and refined artistry, acclaimed international performances, major commissions, and award-winning recordings.
We are excited to close the season with a unique performance on April 3 by musicians from the woodwind, string and brass sections of the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Jessica Linnebach (violin), Carissa Klopoushak (viola), Leah Wyber (cello), Max Cardilli (double bass), Joanna G’froerer (flute), Charles Hamann (oboe), Sean Rice (clarinet), Darren Hicks (bassoon) and Lauren Anker (French horn), along with a pianist to be announced, will be presenting a programme celebrating friendship, generosity, and the shared experience of chamber music.
