DFT Productions is new to Almonte and is owned and operated by Elaine McCausland. She has over 30 years’ experience in theatre in various aspects including Directing, Stage Management, Set Design and Production Management.
Her inaugural show is called Forever Plaid, and is being presented at the Almonte Old Town Hall from July 30 to August 2.
“Forever Plaid is one of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory,” notes Elaine. “This deliciously fun revue is chock-full of classic barbershop quartet harmonies and pitch-perfect melodies!”
Music Theatre International describes the show this way: “Once upon a time, there were four guys (Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie)… who are singing in close harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with overzealous precision. The “Plaids” are a guaranteed smash, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles when they’re not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the 1950s”
DFT Productions is looking for local talent to fill these roles. Auditions will be held on March 21 at the Almonte Old Town Hall. To book an appointment, please email info@dftproductions.ca.
