Neda Laketić is a multidisciplinary artist and author whose work encompasses sculpture, painting, and contemporary multimedia forms. Drawing on her heritage from the former Yugoslavia, and Canada, her art reflects a deep engagement with both cultural history and modern expression. On Saturday, December 13, she will be at the Carleton Place Public Library at 2pm to speak about her new fine art book entitled Neda’s Creation.
Neda holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo, credentials recognized by the University of Toronto as equivalent to Canadian standards. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions throughout Europe and North America, including Paris, New York, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Toronto, Ottawa, Windsor, and other cities. Notable exhibitions include a solo exhibition at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France, Space-Time Gravity at the S.H. Museum, and Art for Life at the Sha Gallery in Toronto.
Neda’s dynamic career includes participation in numerous group exhibitions, from Artcite’s Summer Arts Festival in Ontario to artist residencies and exhibitions in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and Portugal. Her artistic and creative journey has been featured in Canadian media outlets such as Windsor Life Magazine, BizX, Slovo Magazine, Vesti newspaper, RTV Serbia and the Windsor Star. Now living in Carleton Place, she is fully dedicated to her art; she embraces time with her two children, tending to her lush garden, travelling the world and enjoying the quiet company of her cats. Her work is in private collections across Canada, Europe and the UK, reflecting an oeuvre that continues to explore dynamic intersections of form, texture and cultural narratives.
