Just a short drive from Carleton Place, Perth and Smith Falls, there’s a new shopping experience blooming in the snow at 1127 Perth Road. Sherrie and Dan Imbeau quietly opened Personal Touch Country Gifts on November 1, 2025, extending an invitation to local artists and craftspeople to showcase their items for sale.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia and Sudbury, Sherri and Dan are a retired trauma nurse and border services worker who have long dreamed of owning a fine quality gift store where they could showcase local talent and connect with customers. Good fortune allowed them to purchase and set up shop in the historical brick Methodist church and parsonage. The impressive open architecture adds a reverent ambiance to lovely items carried in the store and is worth taking the time to visit.

Along with an impressive array of gift items, Sherrie and Dan offer professional sublimation services to the public and businesses. Sublimation is process that allows vibrant images to be transferred and embedded onto a surface with clean, crips lines. Come and discuss your professional needs or gift ideas with them. Dan is a skilled wood artist whose talent is clearly evident from the moment you walk up to the impressive carved front doors.

Along with showcasing local talent, Personal Touch Country Gifts is the newest brick and mortar location for the Art for Aid Shop’s beautiful art gifts artforaidshop.ca. This local initiative run by longtime area artist Colleen Gray helps to provide free access to art supplies for resource-challenged Indigenous schools in fly-in communities across Canada.

Drop in to shop, chat, and explore this wonderful new business. They are open from 10am to 5pm every day except Mondays and Tuesdays, with plenty of parking and more than enough joy to fill up your basket. You can also find and follow them on Facebook.
