Riversong Players is preparing for an exciting summer season filled with music, imagination, and community storytelling.

First up, their bold new production of Godspell will run from June 5–7 at the Almonte Old Town Hall.

This reimagined production blends dreamlike imagery, contemporary themes, folk-inspired visuals, and an ensemble-driven approach to create a fresh interpretation of the beloved musical. Featuring a cast of local performers ranging from youth to adults, the production explores themes of community, compassion, transformation, and human connection through powerful music and theatrical storytelling.

Audiences can expect a visually imaginative experience filled with live music, movement, humour, and emotional depth. Tickets are available through TicketsPlease.ca.

Auditions for Finding Neverland

Riversong Players is also thrilled to announce auditions for the magical Broadway musical Finding Neverland. Inspired by the story behind Peter Pan, Finding Neverland celebrates imagination, creativity, wonder, and the courage to believe in something extraordinary.

Auditions will take place on June 16 and 17, with callbacks on June 23. Roles are available for both youth and adult performers, with opportunities for experienced actors as well as those newer to the stage. Interested performers can register to receive the audition package through Riversong Players’ website and social media platforms.

New Summer Youth Intensive

In addition to its mainstage productions, Riversong Players is launching a brand-new Youth Summer Production Intensive featuring The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical.

Hosted at beautiful Malkov Farm, this 8-week program will offer young performers the opportunity to build skills in acting, singing, movement, storytelling, and ensemble performance while preparing for a fully staged public production this September at the Almonte Old Town Hall.

Program highlights include twice-weekly summer sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30am–3:30pm, snacks provided, and public performances in September. The age-range is approximately 8–18. Early Bird registration is now open, with payment plans available and limited enrollment due to production licensing and ensemble size.

“Riversong Players continues to grow as a creative home for performers of all ages,” says founder and director Beth Robertson. “This season is about imagination, community, and creating meaningful theatrical experiences that bring people together — from youth discovering the stage for the first time to audiences reconnecting through live performance.”
