It’s golf season, and the Smiths Falls Community Theatre appropriately presents the hilarious Norm Foster play The Foursome. It features four former university roommates who get together the day after their Business Grad’s Fifteenth Reunion Party to play golf and catch up on each other’s lives, successes and failures, and to reminisce about their old college days.

The four men have gone their separate ways after school and reunite to play a friendly round of golf, make a few small wagers on the game, and find out how life has been treating them so far. Their conversations no longer centre on the issues of youth but now span midlife realities, from vasectomies and alcoholism to their children’s issues, home security and Buddhism. The crisp dialogue sparkles in this adult comedy written by Norm Foster, one of Canada’s leading playwrights.

This show welcomes both returning favourites and newcomers to the theatre. The cast includes Jesse Gibson as Donnie, Marc Laferriere as Cameron, Nick Stienberg as Rick, and Neil Temple as Ted. Directed by Liz Stienberg, this play is a great way to tee off your golf season — fore sure!

The play runs for seven performances over two weekends, with 7:30 performances on June 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27, as well as 2pm matinées on June 21 and 28.
