The Art Hub Gallery in Carleton Place will have 20 artists participating in its Things that Matter show through to September 27, featuring artwork that expresses things that are truly important to them. Topics range from ocean pollution, mental health and the environment to gentle matters of healing and connecting with nature. There will be 20 cards around the gallery linked to artwork with the artist’s story about what matters to them.

The show kicked off with a front window display of Patrick John Mills’ striking series entitled Malignant, which is a visceral expression of his emotions about living with cancer. Gilly Marston is showing Remembering Rachel, a large, colourful 4-panel acrylic painting representing her concern for sea life.

The Art Hub is located at 127 Bridge Street in Carleton Place, and you can find more details at artscarletonplace.com.
