Beckwith Heritage Bus Tour: Pioneers of Business

The Beckwith Heritage Committee, in partnership with the Lanark County Genealogical Society, is pleased to announce the 2026 Beckwith Heritage Bus Tour: Pioneers of Business — a special guided journey celebrating the industrious spirit that shaped Beckwith’s early communities.

This year’s tour highlights the remarkable enterprises that fueled Beckwith’s growth from the 19 th century onward. Participants will explore historic sites connected to bush harvesting, local business owners, cheese factories, ice harvesting, potash production, railways, stone quarries, early villages and settlement hubs. These stops offer a rare opportunity to learn how local families and industries contributed to the economic foundation of Beckwith Township and the surrounding region.

The tour takes place on Saturday, September 26, beginning at 9:30AM. The start/finish location is the Beckwith Community Hall, located at 1702 9 th Line in Beckwith. Tickets are $40 (which includes a BBQ lunch) and can be purchased inperson at the Beckwith Township Office (2022 Beckwith Park Lane) or online through the Town of Beckwith online portal.
