Weaving on Rocks

Experienced weavers and total beginners will find something fun in this playful workshop where we will use rocks for off-loom weaving. Learn how to wrap yarn or cord around a rock or other found object to create the warp, then weave the weft threads to create colourful patterns. This craft borrows ideas from loom and tapestry weaving and rock wrapping, marrying the fun of found objects to the magic of weaving. No experience is necessary.

Dani Donders is endlessly curious. What if? Why not? This curiosity has led her to explore many fibre-related side quests, including knitting, crochet, macrame, spinning, felting, embroidery, tapestry weaving and sashiko. Dani is also a collector (some may say hoarder) of found objects and loves to include them into her folk art adventures. Rock wrapping and weaving on rocks build on many of these techniques, incorporating them in playful and colourful designs.
