After his parents’ divorce, Colin, a 14-year-old boy, moves with his mother to her father’s hometown, far from where his father lives. The start of the school year is a source of anxiety for him, as he fears being bullied by his new classmates because of his difficulty with speaking.

Encouraged by his budding friendship with Maxence, a queer student, his growing feelings for his cousin Adélaïde, and the infectious passion of his French teacher, Mr. Devarseau, Colin joins the theatre workshop led by the teacher. Without his mother’s knowledge—she is intent on protecting him—he sets out to audition for a role in the group’s production of Cyrano de Bergerac.
