The MERA Christmas Fair returns this year on Saturday November 8 from 9am to 3pm. Come out to the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonald’s Corners (974 Dalhousie Concession 9a) and start your holiday shopping by supporting local makers and creators. MERA has hosted this event since 2005, inviting local artisans to showcase unique items for sale. Another bonus is an art exhibition presented by the MERA Art Circle. A nutritious light lunch will be provided at the café, and there will also be a bake sale and a draw featuring donated items from vendors.
This year’s Christmas Fair has thirteen vendors including Fine Chocolate by Ludwig, jewellery and sculptures by Ellen Fraser, vegan soaps by Mars Lil Shop, unique fabric creations by Carly’s Cabin Creations, resin creations by Stationhouse Studio, woodworking by Tim Booth and Barry Russell, woodturning by Keith Johnson, wire-wrapped jewellery by PJ’s Pretties, cards and artwork by Emily Wilson, handmade heritage weaving by the MERA Weavers, one-of-a-kind pottery by the MERA Pottery Studio, and art by the MERA Art Circle.
By shopping at the MERA Christmas Fair, you are also helping this local arts and recreation facility to hold more music events, workshops, community dinners and much more. For more information, please visit meraschoolhouse.org.
