The 36th annual Art in the Attic show and sale presents unique original works of art. Twenty-five artists, working in a variety of genres, will showcase their work in the Almonte Old Town Hall at 14 Bridge Street from 10–5 on Saturday, May 9 and from 10–4 on Sunday, May 10.

Choose the genre you want to learn more about. Ask the artist to describe how their inspiration is portrayed in their own art form. Their thoughts and feelings vary. Lens-based artists present quality realism or create unique interpretations of what is initially visible through the camera. Painters use various media — from the softness of watercolours to the boldness of acrylics and inks — to express their own personalities through imagined or remembered scenes. Sculptures, engravers, and jewellers express their love of culture, colour and texture with tactile expressions. Fabric and leather artists create images and works that startle our imagination. A professional printer can help you translate your art into a treasured keepsake.

All artists will be in attendance at this event. Your questions and observations fuel their creativity. They want to share their art with you, even if it just during the moments you spend viewing their display or when you want to take a work of art home to enjoy for many years. You will be supporting the artists’ careers and encouraging art to flourish in our community.

Wall art. Shelf art. Wearable art. Useable art. All are distinct expressions of talent. Come and meet accomplished, emerging, and student artists in a beautiful heritage setting that fosters community growth, quality, and creativity. There will be information and an opportunity to join the Almonte and Area Artist Association so that you too can enhance your creative skills.

Delight your heart with art and take home treasures on this memorable weekend. Admission is free, and an elevator ensures the venue is accessible for all. As a thank you for visiting on either Saturday or Sunday, there will be a daily draw for a $50 gift certificate to be applied to the purchase of any artwork.

Make it a day! In addition to exploring Art in the Attic at the Old Town Hall, drop into the many coffee shops, restaurants, and unique boutiques in beautiful downtown Almonte.
