YAK Youth Services is proud to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026, marking three decades of supporting young people across Perth and the surrounding region. In recognition of this milestone, YAK will host events during National Youth Week from April 30 to May 9, bringing youth, families, and community members together to celebrate connection, belonging, and the power of youth voice.

Since opening its doors in 1996, YAK Youth Services has become a keystone of the Perth community — providing safe spaces, trusted relationships, and innovative programming that responds to the evolving needs of young people. Over the past 30 years, many youth have found support, friendship, and opportunity through YAK’s programs and services.

“YAK has always been about creating a place where young people feel seen, heard, and valued,” said Executive Director Rachel Roth. “Our 30th anniversary is not just about looking back — it’s about celebrating the youth who continue to shape our community every day and investing in a strong future together.”

This year’s National Youth Week celebrations will highlight YAK’s 30 years of impact while creating opportunities for youth engagement and community connection, highlighting our strong community partners.

On Monday, May 4, youth are invited to a YAK Youth Celebration at the Crystal Palace. This fun-filled event is for youth to celebrate their connections, friendships, and their community!

Then on Saturday, May 9 from 11am to 2pm, come out for a Car Wash & BBQ at A&B Ford, where moms get a free car wash as a small thank-you for the continued love and support from the amazing moms in the community.

These events aim to bring the community together while amplifying youth voices and reinforcing the importance of free accessible support for young people.

YAK Youth Services continues to lead with an integrated, youth-centered approach, working collaboratively with community partners to address mental health, reduce risk factors, and build strong, supportive relationships that help youth thrive.
