Meadowlarks

On Thursday, June 11, the Lanark County Neighbours for Truth and Reconcilation invite you to attend a screening of the film Meadowlarks at Studio Theatre Perth. Meadowlarks is a drama based on the lived experiences of people known to the Director, Tasha Hubbard. In the film, Indigenous siblings who were separated at birth when they were removed from their family, community and culture in the 60’s Scoop get together as adults, share their experiences, and reconnect with each other.

During Indigenous History Month this movie offers the opportunity to learn something of the deep and continuing impact of the 60’s Scoop in which thousands of Indigenous children were removed from their families. The screening starts at 7pm and admission is free, but registration is required at TicketsPlease.ca. There will be an opportunity to make a donation at the door.
