Looking to try something new and get inspired by the rural arts scene? The Madawaska Valley Fall Studio Tour weekend on October 3 and 4 may be just what you’re looking for!
Studios from Barry’s Bay to Eganville and from Quadeville to Killaloe are participating in this free self-directed tour. Visitors have the chance to observe live demonstrations by renowned artists, meet emerging artists, and purchase one-of-a-kind art and fine craft directly from the makers. This is a chance to see artists in their studios and learn how they transform materials like leather, clay, glass, wool, metal and fabric to meet their artistic vision.
You can plan your route ahead or let whimsy be your guide as you hit the road discovering art and the inspiration behind it. Meet the artists and drive the winding roads while taking in the beautiful sights and fall colours of the Valley. It is easy to see why so many artists and artisans find inspiration here.
Artists open their studio doors to visitors from 10-5 on both Saturday and Sunday.
Watch for the red maple leaf signs on the way and outside each studio. Pick up a brochure with a map at local businesses and tourist bureaus, or visit madawaskastudiotour.com for a downloadable map, artist biographies, and more details. See you en route!
