Get ready to tap your toes! The Mississippi Mudds are bringing the family favourite Annie to the Carleton Place Town Hall this fall, with performances running November 28 –30 and December 4–7.

Filled with classic songs such as Tomorrow, Maybe, and Hard-Knock Life, this heartwarming musical is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Set in 1930s New York City, it follows a spirited young orphan whose unwavering optimism and charm help her find a family and remind everyone that “the sun’ll come out tomorrow.”

“The talent right here in the Ottawa Valley is absolutely phenomenal,” says director Meredith Millman. “Our young lead captures the spirit of Annie perfectly, our seasoned performers light up the stage as Oliver Warbucks and Miss Hannigan, and our vibrant supporting cast ties it all together. It’s a production that truly celebrates the passion, creativity and dedication of our local theatre scene.”

The Mississippi Mudds’ production promises all the charm, energy, and spirit the community theatre group is known for. Expect lively choreography, adorable orphans, and plenty of feel-good moments in this timeless story of optimism and family.

Annie marks the start of an unforgettable 2025–2026 season for the Mississippi Mudds. In February, the troupe will present Hadestown Teen Edition, a powerful folk opera that reimagines the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice through intertwined tales of love, faith, and defiance. In March, they’ll showcase Broadway Showstoppers, a musical revue featuring well-known songs from Les Misérables, Mamma Mia!, Wicked, Hamilton, and more. The season will close in May with the smash-hit comedy The Play That Goes Wrong — a side-splitting farce that offers a hilarious glimpse into the absolute worst-case scenarios that can unfold in the world of theatre.
