100 Women Who Care Lanark County (100WWCLC) is a local giving circle that has raised more than $230,000 for 32 local charities over the past eight years. To celebrate this incredible milestone, the group will host its final giving meeting of 2025 as a festive Open House at Oakfield Rugby Park.
The “Cheers to Giving” Open House will take place on Sunday, November 23, from 1–4pm, offering members and guests an opportunity to toast a year of generosity, community spirit and shared purpose. Set amid the picturesque surroundings of Oakfield Park, the event promises a warm and welcoming afternoon filled with holiday cheer, delicious treats and good company.
This celebration is also an open invitation for anyone curious about joining 100 Women Who Care Lanark County. Guests are encouraged to bring a friend who might be interested in learning how the group harnesses the power of collective giving to make a difference close to home.
Over the years, members have supported dozens of local initiatives, from community health programs to youth services. Their most recent donation enabled Christie Lake Kids Camp to replace a failed industrial stove — an essential upgrade that will allow the camp to open for its upcoming 2026 summer season.
“Our goal is to spread the word about the work we do, so we can continue to grow our membership and, in turn, raise even more for local charities,” says Vanessa Simmons, Chair of 100WWCLC. “This event is both a thank-you celebration and a chance to share the joy of giving with others.”
The public is welcome to attend and can register online at 100womenlanark.ca.
