In support of our iconic stained-glass windows, St. James Anglican Church in Perth is hosting a fundraiser. On Saturday, June 20, all are welcome to an evening of food, fellowship and music, for a cause close to our hearts.
Known for its stunning heritage building, St. James offers a sacred space for weekly worship and community outreach. The sanctuary is truly majestic, featuring windows whose history is central to this spiritual oasis. Many of the windows were designed by Robert McCausland Limited, the oldest surviving stained-glass studio in North America. They combine exquisite colours, classic Bible stories, and tributes to Perth citizens, thus building the perfect bridge between faith and art.
Like most things, windows are not immune to wear and tear. Fortunately, we can protect the integrity of the stained glass with professional restoration. By strengthening the wood around the glass, our windows can last for at least another century.
Help us preserve our legacy of light at our June 20 fundraiser. Doors open at 5:30pm with a cash bar and a silent auction. Dinner will be served at 6:30, followed by a variety show featuring music from the last century. The show begins at 7:15, featuring the church’s senior choir and friends, including the St. James band — the “Jimbo Combo” — complete with guitar, bass, piano, vocals and drums. Tickets for the dinner and entertainment are $50 per person and will be available through the church office after May 19 at 267–1163. Thank you for helping us keep the light alive!
