The Carleton Place and District Community Band, which has grown to 48 musicians, will be commencing its 2026 Concert Season with a Spring Concert entitled “It’s a Mash-Up!” What is a Mash-Up, you ask? It is a mixture of different types of selections that, when combined, make for a great concert and show.
The concert will take place at the Carambeck Community Centre (351 Bridge Street) on Sunday, May 3 from 2–4pm. This year the concert will be a “Mash-Up” of many of the band’s favourite selections, including Broadway show tunes, music from the movies, Disney, swing, jazz, and some great selections from the Big Band era. There will be something for everyone! During the 20-minute intermission there will be refreshments provided by the Band. Admission is $15 cash at the door. Admission for children 12 and under will be free. Tickets may be purchased at the door, in advance from band members, or by emailing an inquiry to cpadcb@gmail.com.
The Carleton Place and District Community Band is open to musicians of all ages. If you play an instrument now or if you played in a band many years ago, come out and enjoy playing music again. There are no fees to join. If you have two or three years’ experience or more, the band will be a great fit for you. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings from 7:30–9pm in Carleton Place. For further information on joining the band, contact them at cpadcb@gmail.com. For more information on times and locations of this year’s 2026 concerts, please visit facebook.com/cpadcb.
