Based on the beloved film, this heartwarming and hilarious show features an unforgettable score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin. Filled with laughter, music and Christmas spirit, it’s the perfect outing to kick off the holiday season.
Directed by David Bird, this year’s production brings together a vibrant multi-age cast of local performers; a hallmark of the Perth Community Choir. Kristen Widenmaier adds her signature energy as choreographer, while Alex Guerin leads the music with support from Mary-Ellen Grigor and Leah Williams. Together, they create a joyful, high-energy production that will have audiences smiling from start to finish.
Brent Maguire stars as the cheerful and larger-than-life Buddy the Elf, with Chris Angel as his no-nonsense father Walter Hobbs, Kristy Tait-Angel as Emily Hobbs, and Addy Brown and Gaelan Cosens sharing the role of Michael Hobbs. Elli McKean Kerr brings warmth and wit to the role of Jovie, while Brenda Noonan delights as Mrs. Claus.
Adding even more sparkle to the cast, Kristen Widenmaier also has an onstage role as Deb, the office assistant, joined by Duncan King and Guthrie Cleroux as Walter’s office staff. Robert Del Grande steps into the role of Mr. Greenway, Walter’s demanding boss, while Ron Cosens brings his trademark humour to the Store Manager, and Josh Gallant takes on the hilarious Store Santa, delivering laughs and a few surprises along the way.
The production features a large and talented ensemble, with both familiar and new faces bringing the North Pole and New York City to life.
Elf the Musical runs November 13–16 at the Mason Auditorium at PDCI. Showtimes are November 13–15 at 7pm and November 15 and 16 at 2pm.
