Bring your lawn chair and enjoy great live music on Thursday evenings in July at the Concerts in the Park series in beautiful Fitzroy Provincial Park.
West Carleton Disaster Relief is proud to once again present these family-friendly concerts as their major annual fundraiser. Admission is free, with voluntary donations at the gate shared equally with CHEO. The Disaster Relief portion supports local efforts to help residents prepare for, respond to, and recover from severe weather emergencies and other disasters. Visit the information table for brochures on emergency preparedness and power outages.
The series opens on July 9 with The Front Porch Sitters, a new five-piece contemporary folk band featuring rich vocal harmonies, lively fiddle, guitar, pedal steel, bass and drums. Their repertoire includes popular folk, country and Canadiana favourites, along with original songs. On July 16, Big Newton returns with its signature mix of three-part harmonies, guitar-driven rock, funky saxophone, and classic rock favourites.
Jamie McMunn and Family Tradition take the stage on July 23. Members of this popular Ottawa Valley country band have entertained audiences throughout the region for more than 25 years. The series wraps up on July 30 with crowd favourite Ambush, sure to get everyone dancing.
This year marks the 29th anniversary of the concert series. West Carleton Disaster Relief thanks their major sponsor, Waste Management, and Councillor Clarke Kelly for their generous support.
Concerts run from 7–8:30pm, with gates opening at 6pm. Come early and enjoy a BBQ hosted by local youth groups featuring burgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks and more (cash only).
