The Madawaska Valley Studio Tour was established in the early 1990s by a small group of artists and craftspeople who were seeking a way to collaborate to increase the profile of their art practices and support themselves financially. The MVST is among the earliest tours to be established in Ontario.
Since its beginning, the MVST has grown from a small collective of artists concentrated in the western Ottawa Valley to a full tour spanning from Combermere in the west to Eganville in the east. The tour now runs twice a year in the summer and autumn.
