APEX Jazz Band
If you like to hear the tune and a beat you can tap your toes to, the APEX Jazz Band is for you. Now celebrating its 40th year, the six-piece APEX Jazz Band plays an exciting mix of New Orleans tailgate Dixieland, British revivalist Trad jazz, as well as familiar standards. Despite a tight and polished sound, the group never takes itself or the music too seriously, a trait that attracts a passionate following of fans and fellow musicians. Bi-weekly breakfast.Hackberry Men's Shed started in 2015 and is a member of the Canadian Men's Sheds Association. Their purpose is to overcome isolation, loneliness and depression among men, especially after retirement or in time of life crisis; to preserve and share life skills and knowledge; and to be a benefit to the community.They meet alternate Monday nights at 7pm, and between those meetings they gather on alternate Tuesdays for breakfast at 7:30am at the Gourmet Restaurant on Hwy #7 in Carleton Place to enjoy food and fellowship and swap stories. They also gather at mutually agreeable times to work on community projects such as the bat houses.
